rural life

We spent this past weekend at the cabin of some good friends of ours about 2 hours west of Madison. This is the view from the top of the hill that the cabin sits on...the farm below is an Amish farm as nearly all of the farms in that area are. It's like stepping out of normal life for a few days, seeing the Amish families riding along the gravel roads in their horse drawn carts and the massive work horses pulling the ploughs through their fields. Life has a different rhythm there.

A beautiful landscape, and a beautiful description. Madison is one of the few cities in Wisconsin that I've heard of, and I'd never expect to see something like this in the area... though I guess if it's 2 hours west, that's not quite "in the area."

This is a splendid photo Chris. I like it and also enjoyed your story about the Amish. We have them here in our area but north of us around Columbus is a huge settlement of Amish.

One of my daughter's goes there and buys Amish designed and made Oak furnature. It is very expensive but beautiful and heavy weight stuff. I don't know how many pieces she has now but an entire bedroom, and dining room with all the correct pieces.

Interesting to walk in and see so much furniture like she has.

I hope you enjoyed the stay there as it sure looks nice.

Life is different when you go from the hustle and bustle to the quiet and layed back kind of life. Seems like two different worlds.
