bee season

The Farmer's Market has started up again & will run through November - it is held every Saturday and draws thousands of people each week. This guy & his honey has been at the market for as long as I can remember & he's always wearing his beehive hat.
Has anyone heard about the mysterious bee disappearance? One quarter of America's honeybees have disappeared - just gone. Conspiracy theorists abound!

It appears too cold to have market already--here,too. The disappearance of bees is a real serious threat to many different areas of agriculture. Hope they can recover. Have been reading about it in the daily newspapers and will go back and read your article now.

Yes, I have heard. It has been going on for several years now. I first heard about it back in the 1970s and then it was thought the persistent use of lawn chemicals and insect chemicals were responsible, but lately it has been placed on cell phone use that messes up the bee's navigation system. I also posted about this with some excellent close-up photos and those are in my archive.

Nice shot of the man with the bee hive hat.

I hope you get to see the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak that came to Brookville, Ohio yesterday. It is the first one I have seen since we moved here 44 years ago.

I love the hat - and would definitely give him some business for all his efforts and ingenious outfit!!!

Yup, I agree that our market hats on our two gentlemen are unusual but certainly memorable.
