Today's photo was taken at Governor Nelson State Park, named for the man himself - Gaylord Nelson, founder of Earth Day & former Wisconsin governor and senator.
This beautiful park just outside Madison has long been one of my favourite places to go hiking - they also have a boat launch into Lake Mendota, a swimming beach, cross country skiing trails in winter and a dog park, complete with diving pier for our four legged friends to jump into the water.
I think it is a remarkable tribute to a remarkable man.

wow I'm liking your blog more and more =) YAY to earth day because we only have one (for now) since they just found another one but gosh knows how really liveable that one is - but until such time, we should definitely cherish this place! planet-earth.com is a great website to check out!
